At SmartLife Foundation, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request deletion of your SmartLife mobile app account and associated data. We are committed to making this process clear, accessible, and straightforward.
SmartLife Foundation operates the SmartLife mobile application ("the App") which allows users to participate in volunteer activities, track attendance, earn rewards, and engage with our charitable programs.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your SmartLife mobile app account using one of the following methods:
Method 1: Delete via Mobile App (Recommended)
The easiest way to delete your account is directly through the SmartLife mobile app:
- Open the SmartLife mobile app on your device
- Navigate to your Profile by tapping the profile icon or menu
- Go to Settings or look for "Account Settings"
- Scroll to the "Danger Zone" or "Account Management" section
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Read the confirmation message carefully, as this action cannot be undone
- Confirm your decision by entering your password or confirming again
- Your account will be deleted and you will be automatically logged out
Method 2: Request Deletion via Email
If you are unable to access the mobile app or prefer to request deletion via email:
- Send an email to admin@smartlifefoundation.org
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request - [Your Username or Email]"
- Include in your email:
- Your full name
- Your registered email address or username
- Your phone number (if registered)
- A clear statement requesting account deletion
- Reason for deletion (optional but helpful for our records)
- We will process your request within 30 days and send you a confirmation email

What Data Will Be Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:
Account Information
- Your user profile and personal information
- Username and account credentials
- Email address and phone number
- Profile photo and personal settings
- Account preferences and notification settings
Activity Data
- Volunteer attendance records
- Project enrollment history
- Activity logs and session data
- App usage statistics
- In-app messages and communications
Rewards and Points
- Loyalty points balance
- Reward redemption history
- Transaction records
- Leaderboard rankings
What Data May Be Retained
For legal, regulatory, and operational purposes, certain data may be retained even after account deletion:
Legal and Compliance Records
- Financial records: Donation records, payment transactions, and tax-related information may be retained for up to 7 years as required by UAE tax and accounting regulations
- Legal obligations: Data required to comply with legal requirements, court orders, or regulatory investigations
- Fraud prevention: Information related to security incidents or fraudulent activity may be retained to protect our systems and other users
Anonymized and Aggregate Data
- Anonymized analytics: We may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you personally for statistical analysis and program improvement
- Program reporting: Aggregate data used for reporting to donors, funders, and stakeholders (with no personal identifiers)
Backup Systems
Data may exist in backup systems for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) before being permanently purged. During this period, the data is not accessible for normal operations but may be recoverable for disaster recovery purposes.
Data Retention Periods
The following retention periods apply to retained data:
- Financial records: 7 years (as required by UAE law)
- Legal and compliance records: As required by applicable laws or until legal obligations are fulfilled
- Backup data: Up to 90 days after account deletion
- Anonymized data: Indefinitely (as it cannot identify you)
Important Considerations
Irreversible Action
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted:
- You will lose access to all your account data
- You will lose all accumulated loyalty points and rewards
- You will need to create a new account if you wish to use the app again
- Your volunteer history and achievements will be permanently removed
Before You Delete
Before proceeding with account deletion, consider:
- Downloading or saving any important data you want to keep
- Redeeming any unused loyalty points or rewards
- Noting any volunteer hours or achievements you want to remember
- Ensuring you have alternative ways to stay connected with SmartLife Foundation if desired (e.g., newsletter subscription, website account)
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are processed as follows:
- Via mobile app: Immediate deletion (data removed within 24-48 hours)
- Via email request: Processed within 30 days of receipt
- Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation once your account has been deleted
If you do not receive confirmation within the stated timeframe, please contact us to verify the status of your request.
Third-Party Services
The SmartLife mobile app may integrate with third-party services. Please note:
- Deleting your SmartLife account will remove data from our systems, but you may need to separately manage data with third-party services (e.g., Firebase, analytics providers)
- We will make reasonable efforts to request deletion of your data from third-party services we use, but cannot guarantee immediate removal from all third-party systems
- Some third-party services may retain anonymized or aggregated data as permitted by their own privacy policies

In addition to account deletion, you have the right to:
- Access your data: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Correct your data: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data
- Data portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
