Smart Buddy

The SmartBuddy English Program is currently being conducted for UEA children in Dubai, with around 15 enthusiastic students taking part. The sessions are held online via Zoom and facilitated by a dedicated team of 10 teachers.

To ensure personalized learning, students are grouped into four levels:

  • Basic
  • Beginners Level 1
  • Beginners Level 2
  • Junior

Classes run Monday to Friday, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM (IST), offering students an interactive and supportive environment to build their English language skills.

Smart Computer

Over the past two months, Smart Computers has officially been rebranded as Smart Digital to better represent our expanding digital learning vision. This year marks a significant milestone, with the program now operating across six centres — three conducting classes on Saturdays and three on Sundays.

We are also excited to share that Smart Digital has extended its services to the Jebel Ali area, ensuring that more individuals in need have access to valuable digital skills.

Our volunteer community continues to flourish. We are fortunate to have passionate student volunteers from the American School of Dubai, Teen Ovation, and Al Diyafah Group of Schools. Additionally, we are deeply grateful for the support of senior volunteers from BITS Pilani, HP, and Kearney Group, who generously contribute their expertise.

Currently, classes are being held at EFS camps, Al Naboodha, Al Fajer, and several other locations across Al Quoz, with over 150 students enrolled across all centres.

Smart Distribution

In earlier years, our distributions were primarily limited to the holy month of Ramadan. However, this year marks a meaningful shift — grocery and hygiene product distributions have become a continuous effort, reaching workers almost every week.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our generous partners for their unwavering support:

  • Hilton – 390 grocery packets
  • Oliver Wyman – 200 hygiene packs
  • Tata Communications – 300 food parcels
  • Adyen – 150 care packs and 150 food parcels
  • HPE – 455 grocery packs

Thanks to their kindness and commitment, hundreds of workers now receive essential support throughout the year, ensuring consistent care well beyond seasonal initiatives.

Smart Relaxation

The SmartRelaxation team, together with dedicated volunteers from the Mohanji Foundation, hosted an uplifting yoga and Conscious Walking session for the Al Ghurair workforce — all set against the backdrop of breathtaking mountain views.

The experience left everyone refreshed and energized, concluding with a delightful barbecue meal that brought smiles and a sense of togetherness.

A special shout-out to Ms. Salma Ashraf, Senior Officer – Welfare, Engineering, Al Ghurair Infrastructure, for her unwavering support and for selecting such a perfect venue!

Through yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, SmartRelaxation by the SmartLife Foundation (under CDA) continues to help the UAE workforce relax, de-stress, and embrace healthier, more balanced living.

Smart Woman

SmartWoman marked Pinktober with a powerful series of Breast Cancer Awareness sessions and eight free screening camps, benefitting nearly 900 female frontline workers across EFS (Jebel Ali), Ejadah and Berkeley’s Camps (Al Quoz), GEMS and AGFS Camp (Sonapur), and Transguard (Jebel Ali & Sonapur).

The awareness sessions were led by Dr. Nishi Singh, along with Reya and Ludmila, medical interns from Gulf Medical University, joined by Haleema, SmartWoman Project Lead.

Screenings were conducted in partnership with Canadian Specialist Hospital, King’s College Hospital, Grand Infinity Healthcare Group, and GDRFA.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the GDRFA team — Capt. Ismail Al Yakoob, Capt. Khalaf Al Ghait, Lt. Saif, and Sgt. Nouf Al Blooshi — for their motivational presence and thoughtful support at every session.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our medical partners for their dedicated service, and to Mohanji’s Group, coordinated by Eyamin, for generously providing health kits, test vouchers, coffee mugs, and stress balls to participants.

A special note of recognition to Reya and Ludmila, medical interns and founders of the SheCares initiative at Gulf Medical University, along with their team of student interns, for their unwavering commitment and compassionate support throughout the month.

We also extend warm thanks to all beneficiary camp managements and camp bosses for their cooperation, hospitality, and smooth coordination during each visit.

Finally, kudos to Kaveri and Haleema, SmartWoman Project Leads, for their exceptional planning, organization, and execution of this month-long initiative — and to all SmartWoman volunteers who helped make Pinktober truly meaningful.
