Sachi Jain, Vice Consul (ICWF & Welfare), from the Consulate of India, Dubai, during an impromptu visit to our office. The meeting led to a constructive exchange on potential areas of collaboration across SmartLife’s ongoing initiatives.

Smart Living

SmartLife’s Smart Living initiative continued its commitment to frontline wellbeing with two impactful awareness sessions conducted across worker camps in January.

On 18 January 2026, a Drug, Smoking, and Alcohol Abuse Awareness & Stress Management session was held at Serveu Camp, facilitated by SmartLiving trainers Ms. Laxmi and Mr. Natesh. The session focused on building awareness around substance abuse, understanding its short- and long-term health impacts, and equipping participants with practical tools to manage stress effectively. Through engaging discussions, role-play scenarios, guided meditation, breathing exercises, and simple physical techniques, participants learned healthy coping strategies to support their mental and emotional wellbeing.
We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Shihab from Serveu Camp for his support and smooth coordination of the session.

The first SmartLiving session of 2026 was conducted at Sobha Camp, DIC, engaging 45 frontline male workers in an interactive wellbeing workshop. Facilitated by Dr. Gayathri and Ms. Haleema, the session fostered strong participation through thoughtfully designed activities. These included Clap, Stomp & Cheer to encourage group bonding, the Water Bottle Challenge to demonstrate the weight of accumulated stress, Write & Throw Your Stress for emotional release, the Wobble Test to highlight the effects of alcohol on balance and safety, and Dream Rope to reinforce the value of care, sharing, and community support.

We gratefully acknowledge Sheila, Rose, and Aditya from The Synergy Capital team for their assistance, and extend heartfelt thanks to Mr. Anil and Mr. Ansar from Sobha Camp for their continued support and seamless coordination.

Smart Senior Citizens and Single Parent

Where there is a WILL, there is peace of mind

While writing a Will is important for both the young and the not so young, it becomes a tad more critical for senior citizens, who will certainly want their assets – tangible and intangible – to reach the right hands. For it is their life-long toil that is part of their wealth, however big or small that might be and they surely deserve to have the reassurance that this will get passed on to whomsoever they bequeath it to.

Towards this end, we had Nazneen Abbas, Founder of Maan Legacy and Legal Consultancy address our group alongside the company solicitor Pooja Bhattia, explaining the various nuances of creating a Will.

The process begins with sitting with the legal team, outlining precise requirements, wording the Will and finally getting it registered with the required government agencies / courts. A very enlightening session indeed and need of the hour too.
The informative morning ended with a music performance by our own volunteer Sunita Akathre, with the seniors dancing merrily to her melodious voice.

Sustainable Flowers

Fresh flowers do have its allure; this is not up for debate. But then, they do wilt and is always a spend that vanishes within a few days. It was with sustainability in mind that finance professional turned artist Prasadini Deshpande launched ChaArts to create unique items with paper – flowers, bouquets, décor, gift items to suit every conceivable occasion – thus bringing to life traditional art and garnishing it with her passion for protecting the environment.

It was this pride and love for her art that came through, as she taught the senior citizens to create flowers out of stretchable paper. Every participant between the age group 60 to 92 were sitting engrossed, creating these and the room resembled a school art and craft class in progress, for the seniors had truly turned into kids.

Confidence Building & Environmental Awareness Session

On 24 January 2026, the SmartWoman team conducted a meaningful Confidence Building and Environmental Awareness session for 18 frontline women at EFS Female Camp, Al Quoz. The session was led by Ms. Rashmi Aggarwal, Certified Master NLP Practitioner, Life Coach, and Hypnotist, and focused on building confidence through self-awareness and practical life skills.

Participants explored key aspects of body language and assertive communication, learned effective ways to set boundaries with clarity, and gained awareness of employee rights to strengthen self-confidence. The session also highlighted the role of clean surroundings and healthy communities in enhancing personal wellbeing. Interactive tools such as self-reflection worksheets were used to encourage personal growth, and small tokens of appreciation were shared with participants.

The session opened with simple stretching and movement exercises led by Ms. Haleema, emphasizing the importance of physical balance and wellbeing for women. We extend our sincere thanks to student intern volunteers Hana and Samruddhi for their valuable support throughout the session.

Thanksgiving & New Year Get-Together

The SmartWoman team also hosted a heartwarming Thanksgiving and New Year Get-Together on 4 January 2026 at the SmartLife Office, bringing together 25 frontline women and camp representatives from five female camps across Dubai. The gathering provided a joyful space for reflection, connection, and celebration, as participants shared how the SmartWoman sessions have positively impacted their lives.

Mentor Namrata introduced the SmartWoman team and expressed gratitude to partner companies and camp teams, while Project Lead Kaveri reflected on key milestones from the year. The event was enlivened by an energetic game session led by Project Lead Haleema, creating moments of laughter and bonding. Camps were honoured with Certificates of Appreciation, and participants received gifts and plants as tokens of gratitude.

We extend heartfelt thanks to the SmartLife core team—Rex, Abhijeet, Suresh, and Manjubhai—for their continued support, and to the SmartLife office team—Saleembhai, Luciya, Salma, and Sajjad—for their efforts in organizing the event. Special appreciation goes to Ms. Maricar Cinco, Marketing Head of Emrill, for her presence and active engagement, and to the management teams of Emrill, Ejadah, Berkeley, Transguard, and GEMS Education for their ongoing support. We also acknowledge our dedicated volunteers Satyabati, Durriya, and Mukesh, whose contributions ensured the event’s success.

Smart Scholarship

The Smart Scholarship Program recently launched its first session of the year with a focus on Goal Setting for 2026. In alignment with the UAE’s designation of 2026 as the Year of Family, parents were invited to join the session, reinforcing the importance of family involvement in a child’s educational journey.

During the session, students confidently presented their academic and personal goals for the year, along with the practical steps they plan to take to achieve them. The interaction created a meaningful platform for dialogue between students and their parents, strengthening mutual understanding and encouragement.

Parents shared thoughtful reflections on their children’s growth, expressing pride in their discipline, progress, and achievements so far.
