Celebrating Our Project Managers and Volunteers

On 19 April 2026, SmartLife hosted a special evening aboard a dhow cruise to recognise and appreciate the Project Managers and volunteers who have supported its initiatives throughout the year.

The gathering was filled with gratitude, celebration, and meaningful connections, offering an opportunity to honour the collective efforts behind SmartLife’s continued community impact.

SmartLife extends its heartfelt thanks to every Project Manager and volunteer for their dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions.

Badminton Tournament Celebrates Talent and Team Spirit

India Club recently organised a badminton tournament for blue-collar workers under the auspices of SmartLife, with support from the Dubai Sports Council, GDRFA, and Hotpack.

The tournament attracted strong participation, with 21 men’s teams and 14 women’s teams competing in a spirited and inclusive sporting event.

SmartLife representatives Mr. Suresh Kumar and Mr. Nezar Ahmed attended the prize distribution ceremony alongside representatives from GDRFA and India Club, recognising the participants and celebrating their enthusiasm, teamwork, and sporting achievements.

An Inspiring Evening at Al Naboodha Camp

SmartLife organised a special engagement session for workers at the Al Naboodha Camp in Warsan, featuring a screening of the inspirational film Rizwan. The initiative aimed to uplift spirits, encourage positive reflection, and create a meaningful shared experience for participants.

The evening also included a series of lucky draws, with exciting prizes awarded to attendees. A 32-inch television was presented as the grand prize, adding to the enthusiasm and enjoyment of the gathering.

Smart Buddy

SmartLife Expands English Learning Programmes in India and the UAE

SmartLife continues to support education and language development through three online English-learning initiatives serving students in India and the UAE.

IELTS Programme at Nehru College

The second batch of the IELTS Programme commenced on 1 March 2026 for students of Nehru College, Coimbatore. A total of 17 students are enrolled and divided into two groups, with two teachers conducting online sessions every Sunday.

The programme aims to strengthen English proficiency and prepare students effectively for the IELTS examination.

SmartBuddy English Programme in Chennai

At SRDS School in Kattur, Chennai, the SmartBuddy English Programme supports 54 students from Grades 6 to 8. Participants are divided into four batches, with four teachers delivering interactive online classes every Saturday.

The sessions focus on building confidence, vocabulary, pronunciation, spoken English, and overall communication skills.

SmartBuddy English Programme in the UAE

In the UAE, the SmartBuddy English Programme is supporting 11 children from blue-collar families through weekday Zoom sessions led by six volunteer teachers.

The programme helps students improve their reading, writing, speaking, and overall English fluency through regular and structured learning.

Smart Chef

SmartLife is preparing for the first live audition of Smart Chef 2026, an exciting culinary competition launching in May.

The initiative brings together blue-collar participants and white-collar partners to celebrate talent, creativity, and teamwork through food. Competing teams will use fresh, high-quality ingredients and professional culinary techniques to create delicious, balanced, and visually impressive dishes.

Smart Chef 2026 aims to provide a meaningful platform for talented individuals to showcase their skills, share their passion for cooking, and connect across diverse backgrounds.

Smart Hands

SmartHands Programme Empowers Students in Chennai

The second batch of the SmartHand Programme was launched on 22 February 2026 in partnership with the Getup Charitable Trust in Chennai, India.

A total of 13 students with physical disabilities have enrolled in the online programme, which is designed to provide accessible vocational training and practical skill development.

SmartLife Foundation is supporting participants by providing the required training materials and covering transportation costs, helping remove financial barriers to participation.

Through this initiative, SmartLife aims to build confidence, encourage independence, and create meaningful opportunities for students to develop valuable vocational skills.

Smart Hands - India

Old Age Smart Home Supports Senior Citizens in Trichy

The Old Age Smart Home in Trichy, jointly supported by Nal Ullangal Trust, Nall Ullangal Trust, and SmartLife Foundation, provides senior citizens with a safe, comfortable, and caring place to call home.

The facility currently supports five elderly residents, offering essential amenities, companionship, and a peaceful environment that promotes dignity and wellbeing.

A separate living space has also been created for elderly women, providing additional privacy, security, and support tailored to their needs.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to compassionate elder care, social inclusion, and community welfare.

Smart Idol

The Smart Idol 2026 Pre-Finale, held on 5 April 2026, was a memorable celebration of singing and dancing talent among blue-collar workers.

Smart Idol has been organised by SmartLife for the past 12 years, providing a platform for workers to showcase their creativity and confidence. Auditions for the 2026 edition were conducted between September and December 2025 across accommodation facilities in Dubai Investment Park, Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, and Muhaisnah. More than 500 participants took part, with the top 16 singers and dancers selected for the Pre-Finale.

The event was successfully delivered through the dedication of SmartLife’s Project Managers and volunteers. MC Faheem brought energy to the programme, while the judges and Manju Bhai ensured a fair and professional evaluation. Mohan managed the YouTube livestream, and Ritesh coordinated the performers.

SmartLife also extends its appreciation to Venkat Bhai, Javeed, Ashraf, Arun, Masud, Mansoor Bhai, Salma, Luciva, and Sajjad for their valuable support. Special thanks are also extended to Check 123 Studio and Vibes Dance Institute for helping make the event a success.

Smart Living / Smart Academy

Throughout April 2026, SmartLiving and SmartAcademy delivered a series of awareness and development sessions across workforce accommodations in Dubai and Sharjah.

At Sobha Camp in Sajja Industrial Zone, counsellor Ms. Haleema led an interactive session for nearly 50 frontline workers on substance-abuse prevention, stress management, and self-care. Activities such as the wobble test and tug of war helped demonstrate the effects of substance use and the value of sharing concerns and supporting one another.

Further wellbeing sessions were conducted at Sobha Camp in Jebel Ali, Al Tayer Group camps in Al Quoz and DIP, and Al Nasr camps in Warsan and DIP. Topics included mental health, alcohol-related risks, healthy living, stress management, gratitude, forgiveness, and practical self-care techniques.

SmartAcademy facilitators also delivered legal-awareness sessions for expatriates and financial-management workshops across three locations. Specialists Mr. Abhijeet, Ms. Bhargavi, and Mr. Natesh shared practical guidance to help participants make more informed financial decisions.

SmartLife extends its appreciation to all facilitators, coordinators, camp supervisors, and partner representatives whose support made these sessions possible.

Smart Woman

Throughout April 2026, SmartWoman conducted a series of health and wellbeing sessions for female frontline workers across Dubai.

On 4 April, SmartWoman Leads Haleema and Kaveri engaged more than 25 women at Transguard Female Accommodation in Jebel Ali. The session focused on physical fitness, simple daily stretches, breathing exercises, healthy eating, and the importance of prioritising self-care.

At Emrill Female Camp in Al Quoz, Ms. Reya and Ms. Ludmila from the SheCares initiative conducted an awareness session and survey on period pain and PCOS for over 60 participants. The programme was coordinated by Kaveri, with onsite support from Haleema and the Emrill team.

To mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Haleema also led a health awareness session for 28 female workforce members on 29 April. Topics included safe daily habits, hydration, menstrual health, stress management, simple exercises, and healthy home-cooked meals.
